Below are trail descriptions accessible from US-50 arranged in no particular order:

Trail Descriptions:

• Barret Lake
  • Here are the directions for getting to the Barrett Lake trailhead. From Placerville continue east on Highway 50 for about 35 miles to Wrights Lake Road (Forest Service road 4), which is between Kyburz and Strawberry. Turn north and follow the road for about 7 1/2 miles to Wright's Lake Horse Camp. From there follow the signs for a mile or so to Dark Lake and the Barrett Lake Jeep Trail. There is no long term parking at Dark Lake. There is a large, but unmarked, area for parking tow rigs a mile or so on the right before the horse camp. [Trail map]
