DWF* File Utilities for IRIX

Here is a growing collection of DWF file utilities and viewers for use on SGI-IRIX workstations.

• The WHIP ToolKit provides the core functionality to read and write DWF files:
  • The source code may be found on Autodesk's WHIP web site.
  • Here is the IRIX shared library; libwhiptool.so*
  • You'll need to set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include this library.
    • setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH `pwd`
• You'll need a program to excersise the library:
  • write_dwf* writes a basic DWF file.
  • read_dwf* reads and displays many DWF files.
    • Updated with a minimal user interface:
      • Left mouse click zooms in.
      • Middle mouse click zooms out.
      • Right mouse click resets original view.
      • Window may be resized.
      • Escape key or Window Close terminates program.
    • Now includes example mime.types and mailcap files for helper application use.

Drawing Web Format:

DWF is Autodesk's drawing format for use on the World Wide Web. It is essentially a 2D representation of an AutoCAD drawing file. Data is stored in a 32-bit integer logical coordinate system. This allows panning and zooming within the drawing to view details.
