Introduction:
The body lift kits consist of the following items:

Body lift blocks:

Standard and Ultimate blocks in UHMW polyethylene:
- Natural color is white, may be custom colored in black with the CLR option
- For lifts between the heights listed below, use the next higher kit price, e.g. for a 1.5" lift, use the 2" pricing

Standard and Ultimate blocks in UHMW polyethylene:
- 1.5" or 2" denotes either lift height is available, one or the other it's not an adjustable height lift.

Hardware is available in several options.
- Standard grade (Grade 5) hardware is included in kits D, includes longer bolts for each body mount location
- Hardware may be upgraded to Heavy Duty (Grade 8) by ordering the HD option or Stainless Steel (if available) with the SS option
- For hardware-only orders, use the 0"-kit D pricing and specify the lift height in the order description.

In the pricing tables below, the "Typical
Kits" for each given lift height and vehicle is listed,
both in an itemized list at the bottom of each lift height and
as bold text in the table columns.

The "Typical Kit" contains those parts typically needed to
lift a typical vehicle that height, thus the name "Typical
Kit".
- A typical vehicle is one that is somewhat close to stock, that is has the stock engine, stock steering, stock bumpers, etc.

Note, things like suspension lifts, larger than stock tires, etc. have
little or no impact on a body lift.
- After all, all those things do is to raise the frame higher off the ground. A body lift in turn simply raises the body off the frame. So in a sense the body lift could care less what sort of suspension or tires are sitting below the frame.

Feel free to add or subtract from the typical kit as your needs
dictate;
- Or if you wish to upgrade to the Heavy Duty or Stainless Steel hardware, add the HD or SS option to your kit and adjust the price accordingly.
- BOTTOM LINE: If you don't know what to order or don't know what you need and have no special requirements, order the Typical Kit, simple!

Lift blocks and poly body mount bushings (P) available in black color
only
- New: 1/2" lift block (only) kit should fit with factory hardware for a low cost, offering a low cost, mild lift option
- If you want a full 1/2" kit with new hardware, either add kit items D+MET for metric hardware kit or P+D(+HD) for new poly bushings and hardware

Kit P should fit FJ-40 models from 1958-1978
- The basic poly bushing kit (0", kit P) includes new stock length HD hardware at no additional cost.
- Note this is a replacement for vehicles with ~2"/50mm square bushings, if your vehicle has round bushings, we'll need some dimensions on what size(s) of bushings you will require and we can get you a quote for the custom round bushing kit.
- Lift blocks available in 1/2", 1" and 2" heights only.

For kit D, hardware is sized to fit the polyurethane bushings (kit P)
only.

For Heavy Duty
or METric hardware upgrades, kit D must also be ordered
- Hardware upgrades are mutually exclusive in that only one can be ordered, e.g. there is no HD+MET upgrade.
- So, for kit D or kits D+HD, kit P (or an aftermarket poly bushing kit) is required. The aftermarket bushing kits uses SAE nuts welded to the lower bushing washers, so the supplied bolts must match those nuts.

If you wish to have hardware supplied to fit the OEM rubber body mounts
(which have M10x1.25 threaded nuts welded to them), order kit MET in
addition to kit D.
- If ordering kits D+MET, you'll need to re-use all your OEM rubber body mounts and associated hardware (except for the bolts). Only do so if you know you'll be able to get all 12 body mount bolts out of the welded nuts on the OEM bushings.

For Heavy Duty
or METric hardware upgrades, kit D must also be ordered

For FJ-45 models, the cabs are usually identical to the FJ40 with the
addition of more round (or square) body mount bushings under the bed.
-
So order the typical FJ-40 kit and add the appropriate FJ-45 kit option
along with the FJ-40 option:

For example for 1" D+P, you would also add D45+P45.
- Note, the D45 and P45 kits include 1 pair of lift blocks/bolts and 1 pair of round bushings respectively.
- As such, if you have say 2 pair of round bushings under the bed, order qty. 2 each of D45 and P45 (i.e. 2xD45+2xP45)
- Stock length bolt for the two large round mounts (one pair) is assumed (~62mm diameter) to be 6"/150mm long, if yours measures different, let us know prior to ordering so we can adjust the length accordingly. And if you need more than one pair of round bushings, order as many pairs of bushings as you need.

Bushing shape:

- We can also supply round bushings in small (45mm), medium (55mm) and large (62mm) diameter bushings if you wanted a different size than the default.
- For square bushings, the best bet is to order an additional square poly bushing kit (item P) and then you'll have a full selection of diifferent height upper and lower bushing pieces along with the replacement mounting hardware.
- Likewise order as many D45/HD45 kits as you heed for the additional bushings.

Bed spacers can be added:
- 1 pair (short bed) or 2 pair (long bed) for supporting the bed/tray under the rear wheel wells.

For example for 1" D+P, you would also add D45+P45.

So order the typical FJ-40 kit and add the appropriate FJ-45 kit option
along with the FJ-40 option:

The above options apply to the square bushing 40-series models.
- Somelate model '40 series have round bushings, typically 12 in ~2"/50mm diameter.

For Heavy Duty or
Stainless Steel hardware upgrade, kit C or D must also be ordered
- Hardware upgrades are mutually exclusive in that only one can be ordered, e.g. there is no HD+SS upgrade.
- HDn swaps the grade 5 lock nuts for grade 8
- HDw includes hardened, oversized bottom washers for the body mount bolts.

SSw includes stainless steel bottom washers for the body mount bolts.
- Order either washer upgrade if you don't want to re-use your original bottom washers, especially recommended with Poly bushings

For poly bushing kit (P) orders, specify if your '55 has all 10 body
mount bushings of equal thickness (height of the upper bushing between
the frame bracket and body) or if there are 2 different thicknesses.
- Some '55s have up to 6 bushings that are approx. 1/4" thicker than the other ones and the poly kit supplies all equal thickness bushings, so spacers will be furnished to make up for the difference in thickness.
- In other words, some of the upper bushing halves will be ~3/4" (19mm) tall and the rest ~1" (25mm) tall. The poly bushings are all 3/4" tall, so need to make up for that extra 1/4" of height, either in terms of extra body lift spacer height or with small UHMW spacers.

And a tip; you will not find this information out in any factory
service manual or dealer parts computer printout or from some on-line
diagram of the frame/body mount detail or from what someone else used.
- The only way to find out how your truck is set up is to crawl under it and look at the body mount bushings.
- After all, you are ordering a custom body mount bushing kit and you might as well have that kit customized to fit *your* truck instead of someone else's!

Photo shows our earlier version bushings, but these are no longer
available from our supplier.
- The newer version has similar upper bushing halves and the lower bushing halves are a smaller diameter with a conical shape to help them spread out when tightened.

Also, not pictured are the bushing spacers (0 - 6 typical) as needed to
match your vehicle's bushing heights - see above.
- So, let us know how many taller bushings your vehicle has, we'll assume the taller bushings are the larger diameter ones under the main section of the body, not the 2 smaller ones under the radiator.

CLR option, black is the default custom color
- If you wish to paint your blocks a custom color, order the CLR option and we'll prep the blocks for painting and you can paint the blocks upon receipt
- The natural block color is white
- For 0" Poly bushing kits, the CLR option supplies the 6 bushing spacers in black vs. the default white color.

What's up with this vehicle designation? Well, it is intended to encapsulate all the variations of FJ, BJ, HJ and 60, 61, 62. They are all pretty much the same as far as the frame and body go (with the noted bolt length differences on the '62 models), so we lump them all together for body lift kits.

Ultimate blocks (kits B and D):
- 2 - 2" diameter, 10 - 2.5" diameter is the default mix of block sizes
- Some vehicles, usually the -61 and -62 models, have 4 - 2" diameter and 8 - 2.5" diameter body mounts, so specify that mix if it applies to your vehicle. We've seen some rare -60 models that have 4 extra long bolts.

The hardware kits include 12 bolts of suitable length and 12 lock nuts
- The '6x vehicles use an assortment of different hardware lengths, so if you want to ensure proper fitment, you are encouraged to send us your stock bolt lengths to us with your order.

Otherwise, we do have typical bolt lengths for most FJ-60 (6 shorter
and 6 longer bolts) and FJ-62 (4 shorter and 8 longer bolts) models.
- Some very late model '60s (like '87 model year) may have the '62 hardware.

For Heavy Duty,
Stainless Steel, or Metric hardware upgrade, kit C or D must also be
ordered
- Note that these hardware options are mutually exclusive, that is you can specify up to one option, not 2 or all 3.
- HDn includes grade 8 nylock nuts in place of the default grade 5 lock nuts (SAE only)
- SSw includes stainless steel washers to replace the original bottom washers.

HDw includes new
hardened, ovesize steel washers to replace the original bottom washers
- Order either washer upgrade if you don't want to re-use your original bottom washers, especially recommended with Poly bushings
- Some customers have ordered a 2nd HDw kit so they have additional washers to use as spacers on top of poly bushings in situations where the body may not sit flat on the new bushings. This usually happens due to frame or body sagging over the decades. The washers are approx. 3mm thick and you can place them between the large top washer and the underside of the body to even out the bushing heights. This is more noticeable with the poly bushings because they don't expand as much as the original rubber bushings did. The rubber bushings will appear to fill in those gaps because the taller ones compress first until all the bushings make contact. The poly is firmer than the rubber and doesn't compress as much.

For poly bushing orders (kit P), please specify the number of small
(~45mm dia.), medium (~55mm dia.) and large (~65-70mm dia.) bushings
required.
- This will vary from year to year and from vehicle to vehicle, so if you want your bushing order to fit your vehicle, you will need to measure the sizes of bushings that your vehicle uses.

That'll get you new polyurethane bushings (P), stock length bolts/nuts (D) and new washers for the bottom of the bushings (HDw) -
Diameter is the outside diameter of the upper portion of the stock
rubber body mount bushing.

- The RED ARROW points to the upper body mount bushing half
- The GREEN ARROW points to the "cup" on the frame bracket that the bushing may be sitting in.
- The LIGHT BLUE LINES indicate the diameter measurement taken
- Bushing sizes are typically the same side-side, so checking sizes on one side is typically sufficient.

And no, you do not need to run out and buy a digital caliper or high
precision tool to do this measurement. Any sort of a caliper would
work, or a small ruler or even cut a piece of paper or cardboard to the
55mm (~2-1/8") size and compare that to the size of your bushings.
Any that are that 55mm OD and sit in a cup of that same size need to be
noted.

The issue is that the large size poly bushings WILL NOT FIT in a medium
size cup.
- For reference, the large bushings are about the size of the width of a dollar bill (US or Canadian currency).

Here is a medium
bushing size template that you can
download, print and cut out to use for checking bushing fitment.

- You can also glue the paper to some light cardboard to make a more durable template.
- Template should just fit around a compressed medium bushing, as shown in this image. but not the larger bushings.

Typically there are:
- 0, 2, or 4 small bushings (45mm outer diameter)
- 0, 2, 4, or 6 medium bushings (55mm outer diameter)
- And the remainder are larger bushings (62 mm outer diameter)

We also now offer an extra large (Pxl) poly bushing that are 70mm (2-3/4") in diameter.
- Price listed is for each bushing position that you wish to ungrade to the extra large diameter.
- For example if you want 2-S, 6-M and 4-XL bushings, you would order kits P + 4Pxl. This covers the cost of the polyurethane ring to expand the bushing diameter.
- The above poly bushing dimensions are uncompressed. When installed and compressed by the body weight, they enlarge in diameter by 5% - 10%.
- There are a total of 12 bushings.

The medium bushings will also sit in a steel "cup" on the
frame bracket, this requires the bushing to be cut down
to fit.

If you are unable to or don't want to measure, you can order a
"generic" kit with bushings that can fit any mix of up to 8
small/medium sized mounts as this seems to be the maximum number of the
small/medium bushings used (the remaining 4 bushing are the large
size).
- This is what will be assumed if you do not specify the mix of bushing sizes needed

And don't ask us if we know what set of bushings are on your truck.
- First, if we already knew, trust us, we would not ask you to double check as this is as much of a hassle for us as you.
- And if your truck was parked in the driveway out in front of our place, we could check it, but it is likely parked out in front of your place, so we are not able to check it.
- If installing bushings on a vehicle that has had new hardware and/or a body lift already installed, you may need some 1/2" shorter bolts if you find the nuts bottom out on the bolt threads, or add a few washers under the nuts.
- Bushing material is ~92A durometer poly-urethane and the bushings include new cad-plated steel sleeves and top washers
- It's possible to re-use your factory body mount bolts with the poly bushing kit for a stock height replacement, no need to purchase our 0" hardware kit, item D.

And no, you do not need to run out and buy a digital caliper or high
precision tool to do this measurement. Any sort of a caliper would
work, or a small ruler or even cut a piece of paper or cardboard to the
55mm (~2-1/8") size and compare that to the size of your bushings.
Any that are that 55mm OD and sit in a cup of that same size need to be
noted.
- The issue is that the large size poly bushings WILL NOT FIT in a medium size cup.

Typically there are:
- 2 small (~45mm outer diameter) or medium (~55mm) bushings up front

6 medium (~55mm outer diameter) or large bushings (~65-70 mm outer
diameter) under the rest of the body.
- Note that the largest poly bushings measure ~62mm OD uncompressed, but when installed and compressed by the body weight, they enlarge to ~68mm and thus work fine for the 65-70mm OD factory bushing locations.

"generic" kit with bushings with 2 small and 6 medium.
- This is what will be assumed if you do not specify the mix of bushing sizes needed

And a tip; you will not find this information out in any factory
service manual or dealer parts computer printout or from some on-line
diagram of the frame/body mount detail or from what someone else used.
- The only way to find out how your truck is set up is to crawl under it and look at the body mount bushings.
- After all, you are ordering a custom body mount bushing kit and you might as well have that kit customized to fit *your* truck instead of someone else's!

and bottom grommet:
- If your vehicle has 2 or 4 one-piece bushings bolted to the frame brackets at the front or rear, the P1 bushing kit is not suitable.

Instead, we have the P2 and P3 bushing kits, in
which you retain the 2 or 4 one-piece OEM body mount bushings (they are
bolted to the frame brackets) and then replace the remaining 8 or 6 of
two-piece bushings as desired:

P2 option, polyurethane body mount bushings;
- Typically the one-piece bushings are at the very rear of the frame.

This is for 8 sets of two-piece bushings, which have a separate top and

- Note: The polyurethane bushings will have a different appearance than the stock rubber bushings. The OEM bushings typically have various contours molded into them to control the stiffness. Polyurethane bushings are generally molded and thus need smooth, slightly tapered sides to un-mold properl. THe material stiffness (durometer) is controlled by the exact mix of ingredients used to make the bushings.

Bed Spacers:
- BS1, bed spacer blocks fasten to the frame rail and sit between the frame and the small round rubber bumpers under the rear wheel wells

BS2, additional pair of 2.5" dia. blocks to
fit between the frame crossmember and body where there are 2 rubber
bushings attached to the body.
- You could glue the block to the crossmember or use a longer screw to fasten the block and rubber cushion in place.

RAD option:
- The radiator drop brackets are designed for radiators that mount to a vertical flange, so be sure to check your radiator mounting method before ordering this kit item to make sure it's applicable.
- Some LX-450 customers have reported better results with a radiator brkt. ~1/2" shorter than the lift height for lifts of 1-1/2" and taller. If you want that option, let us know in the order description.

With the FJ Cruiser model kits, all have 2 - 2" dia. lift blocks up front and then either 6 - 2" 6 - 2.5" or 6 - 3" dia. lift blocks under the rest of the body, so we offer our traditional Standard, Ultimate and a new Mega lift block kit. Which to choose?
- Standard size offers the lowest cost
- Ultimate size is our most popular size combination for most vehicles

Mega size would apply if the body mounts on your vehicle match the
diameters shown in the table and you wish to have the lift block size
match that of the body mount bushings.
- If your vehicle doesn't have the extra large diameter body mounts, the mega size lift blocks may not sit up flush to the bottom of the body, so be sure to check prior to ordering
- And if you think there's a better mix of lift block diameters that would meet your requirements, please contact us with the particulars, we'll be happy to work up a custom designed mix of blocks just for you.

For Heavy Duty (HD),
stainless steel (SS) or METric (MET) hardware upgrade,

- METric hardware is of course the same size/grade/strength as stock.

Specify if you would like undersize (7/16") or oversize
(1/2") hardware if you don't opt for METric:

Oversize hardware is stronger but may require that body mount washers
and bushings be enlarged slightly (to 1/2") to install the larger
bolts
- If this is an issue for you, select either an undersized hardware option or the METric hardware option.
- Unless otherwise specified, the oversize hardware will be assumed for both standard and heavy duty grade options, since most folks want the benefit of the stronger, oversized hardware.

This gives you the choice of 5 hardware options, since you can choose
from:
- Undersize - standard grade; ~16% weaker than stock
- Undersize - heavy duty grade; ~5% stronger than stock
- Oversized standard grade; ~12% stronger than stock (default for kits C or D)
- Oversized - heavy duty grade; ~40% stronger than stock (default for kits C+HD or D+HD or DD+HD)
- Or if you want stock size/strength metric hardware, order the METric hardware upgrade, choose this option for easiest installation.

- The 1/2" lift kit is a good option is you install rock sliders or after market bumpers and find you have squeaking from the body contacting the new protection .

Lift height / front bumper fit:
- 1" lift should not require any trimming for the front and rear bumpers is you have the heavy steel cross members behind them
- 1.25" lift most closely matches the offset of the front bumper mounting studs, so the bumper can be raised one set of studs and line up with minimal gap

1.5" will have a slight gap at the front bumper
- Note: 1.25" / 1.5" kits are separate, specify one or the other when ordering. Kits are not "adjustable", they are built to the height you order, same price for either height, but we need to know which height to make your kit.
- Above 1.5" you'll either have a larger front bumper gap or you'll need a custom fromt bumper built for the body lift height.

Whatever ordering option you use, please be sure to prior to submitting the

- Returned orders will be reshipped at your expense.

desired:
- For example: 2" Body lift for 19xx Toyota FJxx Landcruiser
- In the Price field, enter the parts total for the lift, including shipping if using the custom shipping button above
- You can log into an existing Paypal account or enter your credit card information if you don't have or want to use a Paypal account

In the Note To Seller / Special Instructions field,
enter any specific options you want in the order
- For example: '85 FJ60 2" Kit D
- No need to spell out the kit options, that is why we use simple letter codes to make it easy to enter and easier than clicking on a half dozen "Add To Cart" buttons to enter your order.
- And if you want to add something else to your body lift kit order, no problem, add a short description of it and be sure to include the cost in the parts total (above).
